Hi, my name's David Allan and I'm an illustrator of children's books.

I have a special affinity for myth and fantasy subjects and my influences include classical illustrators such as Arthur Rackham and Ivan Bilibin.

Picture books I've illustrated include: Two Trickster Tales from Russia retold by Sophie Masson, Two Tales of Twins from Ancient Greece and Rome retold by Ursula Dubosarsky and Two Tengu Tales from Japan retold by Duncan Ball.

I also provided illustrations for Jules Verne's Mikhail Strogoff, the first English translation in 100 years of his classic adventure novel, as well as contributions to many more publications.

Feel free to browse around my site and check out my Illustration Portfolio.
